If you’ve ever dreamed of waking up in Puerto Vallarta Old Town (aka Zona Romántica) where the streets are cobblestone, the colors are LOUD, and the energy is basically a permanent vacation… then buckle up, because this is your sign!!!
I’m writing this with a ridiculously huge grin because this neighborhood is the real deal. It’s the Puerto Vallarta we grew up loving, local life, friendly faces, tiny corner stores, incredible food smells floating through the air, and sunsets that look like they’ve been edited (they haven’t!!!).
And because we’re a small, family-run crew (born and raised right here), you’re not getting some generic “check-in code and good luck” situation. You’re getting us. Real humans. Local help. Local tips. Local vibes. My name’s Jeff (the pvkid), and I’m sooo proud of what we do, because when you stay with us, you’re not just visiting PV… you’re actually living it.
First: Why Old Town is the BEST place to stay (seriously)
Old Town is walkable, full of personality, and feels alive from sunrise to last call. It’s not the “big resort bubble.” It’s where you step outside and immediately see:
- Neighborhood cafés doing strong coffee and sweet pan dulce
- Street tacos that’ll ruin you for tacos anywhere else
- Hand-painted tiles and pops of color everywhere you look
- Beach days that turn into pier walks that turn into “let’s grab one more drink” nights
And if you’re staying in Amapas, you’re super close to the action but with a little more “ahhh” factor. Plus, the walk from Amapas to Los Muertos Beach takes 10–15 minutes, and it’s one of those walks where you keep stopping because the views are sooo pretty.

The “secret sauce” of staying with a local family (that’s us!)
Let me say it straight: Old Town is awesome on its own… but having locals in your corner makes it next-level.
When you book with us, we’ll help you plug into the stuff that turns a good trip into a WHY AM I NOT LIVING HERE?! trip:
- Which taco stand is worth waiting in line for
- Which beach vibe fits your mood that day
- Where to find handmade textiles, tiles, and locally made goodies
- What to do when you want “no crowds, just wow”
And if you’re planning a longer stay, working remotely, or doing the laptop-on-the-balcony dream? Ohhhhh yes. We know exactly what you need.
Condo pick #1: A dream setup for a puerto vallarta digital nomad life
If you’re coming down to work remotely (or “work remotely” 😉), this one is a total win. Our Casa Vizcarra 2 Studio is all about keeping life simple, comfortable, and right in the heart of Old Town.
Here’s what makes it soooo good:
- High-speed WiFi (with an ethernet port too!)
- A comfy queen bed for real sleep (not that “hotel mattress mystery” situation)
- A practical kitchen setup for easy breakfasts, snacks, and coffee rituals
- A true neighborhood vibe, cobblestones, tienditas everywhere, and that classic “PV barrio” feel
You can check it out right here: puerto vallarta digital nomad
And yes, this place is located five blocks from the beach, in a super traditional area where you’ll see real daily life happening all around you. It’s one of my favorite parts of hosting: guests come for the beach… and leave obsessed with the neighborhood.

What your days can look like (aka: why people don’t wanna leave)
Old Town mornings are pure magic. You wake up, the light is glowing, and the whole neighborhood slowly starts moving.
A few ideas (tested and VERY approved):
- Grab coffee and do a slow stroll while the streets are still quiet
- Hit a local market and pick up something handmade
- Beach for a few hours (Los Muertos is a classic for a reason)
- Late lunch somewhere you found by accident that ends up being your new favorite place
- Sunset walk where the sky looks like it’s showing off
And the best part? You don’t need a complicated plan. Old Town is one of those places where wandering is the plan.

Condo pick #2: Big views, big comfort, big “WOW” energy , The PVGirl favorite
Okay… if you want that “I can’t believe this is my view” feeling, you’re going to LOVE this one.
Casa Opportunity is a one-bedroom apartment that’s close to Old Town and just 4 blocks from Los Muertos Beach. It has this gorgeous, peaceful vibe, like you’re tucked into a calmer pocket, but still close enough to pop into town anytime.
Highlights that guests get excited about (and honestly, we do too):
- Panoramic bay + mountain views
- Tall glass windows and doors that bring in all the light
- A balcony moment that’s basically made for coffee and sunsets
- Strong WiFi (yes, we know that matters!)
- A full kitchen for “let’s stay in tonight” dinners
If you want to see it: The PVGirl
Also: real talk: this one has that “come home, exhale” energy. You spend the day exploring, and then you get to return somewhere that feels like a calm retreat.

Not sure which vibe fits you? Here’s a quick cheat sheet
Because choosing a place to stay is kind of a big deal: and I want you to land in the spot that matches your trip.
If you’re more like “I wanna be out all day, in the center of local life”:
- Pick a studio in Old Town
- Walk everywhere
- Live on tacos, fresh juice, and spontaneous plans
If you’re more like “I want views and a peaceful place to recharge”:
- Go for a one-bedroom with a balcony
- Do sunrise coffee at home
- Do sunset toasts at home
- Still be super close to the beach and restaurants
Either way, you’re staying in the neighborhood where PV feels like PV.

Old Town isn’t just a convenient place to stay. It’s the place where you’ll feel the city’s heartbeat. It’s where you’ll get those “we should move here” conversations. It’s where the days feel full, the nights feel fun, and everything feels close enough to enjoy without stressing.
And if you stay with us, you’re not just booking a condo: you’re getting a local family who actually cares that your trip is AMAZING!!!
Can’t wait to welcome you to Puerto Vallarta!!!
