One of my favorite things to do is head down to the local market early in the morning. The colors are just UNBELIEVABLE! You see the freshest mangoes you’ve ever laid eyes on, and the hustle and bustle is so energizing! We love recommending these little spots because it’s where the real Puerto Vallarta happens. I cannot stress this enough, where you stay determines the "soul" of your trip! We are absolutely obsessed with the Zona Romántica and Old Town area. It is the heart and soul of PV! Everything is walkable, colorful, and just bursting with character.
If you're staying in the Amapas area (which is stunning, by the way!), you have the most incredible lush views. And guess what? It is only a quick 10–15 minute walk from Amapas to Los Muertos Beach! That walk is one of the highlights of my day. You get to see the transition from the jungle-y hills down to the golden sands, and the energy just builds as you get closer to the water. It’s the perfect way to wake up or wind down!
Staying in these areas means you are steps away from the best galleries, the most delicious street tacos, and those hidden cafes that the big tour buses never find. We’ve spent years finding the absolute best of the best, and we LOVE sharing these "insider secrets" with you! And speaking of meaningful: nothing beats getting out into nature! One of the best parts about being in our neck of the woods is how close you are to the jungle. We always tell our guests to take a little time to explore the trails. The contrast between the vibrant city streets and the deep, cool green of the jungle is just STUNNING! You can find hidden spots that feel like they haven't changed in a hundred years. It’s so grounding and just… WOW.
