As ash from Iceland’s Eyjafjallajokull volcano continued to keep European airspace shut down over the weekend, affecting millions of travelers around the world, some government agencies and airlines clashed over the flight bans. Some restricted airspace is now beginning to open up and some limited flights are being allowed now as airlines are pushing for the ability to judge safety conditions for themselves. The volcano continues to rumble and hurl ash skyward, if at a slightly diminished rate now, as the dispersing ash plume has dropped closer to the ground, and the World Health Organization has issued a health warning to Europeans with respiratory conditions. Collected here are some images from Iceland over the past few days. (35 photos total

A Westmount resident’s lawsuit against Air Transat, for failure to provide him with appropriated medical attention during a flight, was dismissed in small claims court this past Tuesday.

His illness? Sudden and mysterious bleeding in the area between his legs.

The curious incident occurred February 15, 2008 during a flight from Montreal to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Marcel Cote was comfortably seated in business class an hour after takeoff when, for some unknown reason, he felt enough discomfort to make an emergency visit to the washroom, where he discovered spots of blood on his body.

In a panic, Cote asked for the help of a flight attendant, who quickly came to his side. When the passenger noticed that the agent was female, he asked to be assisted by a male attendant because the bleeding seemed to be coming from his genital area.

When the male attendant came to him, Cote then asked to be closely examined so that the exact nature of the problem can be determined. The employee declined, giving him absorbent paper instead.

Indignant and distressed, Cote quickly expressed his wish to see a doctor.

Before supplying him with sanitary towels, the members of the flight crew told him they would contact a physician if the illness was grave enough. On arriving in Puerto Vallarta three hours later, Mr. Cote met with a travel agent he knew and she took him to the hospital in a taxi. He was examined by a doctor who determined Cote had a ruptured vein near his scrotum. Three stitches were needed to close the wound.

What started off as a dream trip to a Southern paradise with his wife, in the end turned into a nightmare Cote said, claiming the incident ruined his vacation and has made him anxious about flying.

Cote sued Air Transat and the employees on the flight that day, accusing them of failing to provide appropriate medical assistance, seeking damages of $8,000 for the anguish he suffered as a result of their neglect.

But judge Michele Pauze rejected Cote’s case.

In her decision, she said she agreed with arguments offered by Air Transat representative Chantal Chlala, who explained to the court that flight attendants do not have the right to examine passengers, and even less to make a diagnosis.

“It was not incumbent upon a flight attendant to conduct the medical examination of a passenger, a measure reserved for the medical profession,”

wrote judge Pauzé.

Although she conceded that Cote could very well have experienced troubling moments in the episode, the judge maintained that “nothing in the facts (put before us) proves that that the situation was dangerous or worrisome to the point of requiring the immediate attention of a doctor.”

Not only did Pauze rule against Cote, she also ordered him to pay for the court costs incurred by Air Transat, amounting to $189.

Who would not be charmed at the lush greenery surrounding it or the serpentine sandy beaches that fill your soul with peace and happiness? Even though economic slow down is gripping the US, the number of people interested in checking out a Condo for sale in Puerto Vallarta keeps increasing by the day.

This tropical paradise enjoys the interest tourists and settlers from around the world shower on it. Whether you are a retiree, an artist or a nature lover, PV welcomes you with its warm and friendly atmosphere. Villas and condos are sold like hot cakes for obvious reasons.

In recent times, we have seen the real estate market touch sky-high prices that make it exceedingly difficult to buy a Condo in a much populated city. This is one of the reasons, why attention has deliberately shifted to quieter and less populated places. Puerto Vallarta has evolved to be a great option with a number of advantages backing it. Additionally being a Mexican resort city, it has gained an edge over other cities.

Charming Location

Among the favorite American countries, Mexico has its own charm that makes it unique. When you say Puerto Vallarta, the image that immediately comes to your mind is that of a festive atmosphere with typical Mexican kind of fun filled scenario. Located by the Banderas Bay, which is considered to be one of the most beautiful bays around the globe. Surrounded by the majestic Sierra Madre mountains, the city seems to have retained its old world charm despite the ever-increasing number of tourists and settlers who always eye a Condo for sale in this beach city.

Superb Climate

Added to its enviable locations, PV enjoys excellent climate for almost 7 to 8 months in a year spanning from the beginning of November to May. While you may be tired of the bustling crowd and choking pollution of cities, it poses a nice contradiction that is almost too good to resist. Numerous activities that keep the city busy help you to enjoy the climate to the maximum.

The warm mornings and the cool evenings make sure you never get weary of having fun. If you are lucky enough, you may get a chance to purchase the prime Puerto Vallarta Real Estate for Sale, while making sure you never miss out on the fun part.

Friendly People

Mexico is known for it friendly and warm atmosphere. You do not feel like a stranger here. This is one of the reasons why people show interest to come and settle down in this part of the US than anywhere else. The old world feeling that prevails in PV is more than welcoming to you and your family. Once you come and visit here, soon you would be wishing to check out a Condo for sale in Puerto Vallarta.

World-class Infrastructure

Keeping in mind the growth rate of this city, there has been significant increase in the infrastructure here. There are villas and condos that are equipped with all the modern amenities and facilities that you can find in any other highly-developed city. Whether you like to think about 24hour broadband connection or telecommunication services, you get everything like you did back home. With many buyers interested in Puerto Vallarta real estate for sale, the local authorities are ready to accommodate you with everything that you desire for.

Convenient Transportation

As the city has grown into a popular tourist destination, the transportation is made simpler than ever. You can come to PV by water, air or road depending on your mood and needs. If you belong to Canada or the US, it is very convenient for you to travel down to this beach city.

So, not only that you find four way lane roads for easy drive downs as well as cruises and ferries that can take you anywhere you like with luxury. Sufficient number of flights and choppers are available to make your travel faster and quicker. The rapid growth in transportation like the port and the airports is found in PV like no other city.

Great Real Estate Values

With PV easily attracting a lot of attention for its lovely beaches and high mountains, the real estate in the area has taken an upward swing. Many investors who wish to make smart investments look at PV with hope of getting maximum ROI. While you can buy a villa or condo to stay, you can even rent it out when you don’t need without any issues. Your real estate agency should be able to take care of that aspect for you.

An interesting letter in this publication noted:

“If you consider that there has been an average of 160,000 troops in the Iraq theater of operations during the past 22 months, and a total of 2112 deaths, that gives a firearm death rate of 60 per 100,000 soldiers.

The firearm death rate in Washington, DC, is 80.6 per 100,000 for the same period.

That means you are about 25 percent more likely to be shot and killed in the US capital, which has some of the strictest gun control laws in the US , than you are in Iraq .”

Conclusion: “The US should pull out of Washington.”

Invariably, when North Americans visit Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, they have such a good time under absolutely ideal conditions, that they hate to leave. Upon returning home, many start planning their next trip to Puerto Vallarta and can only dream about retiring here someday. The fortunate ones, either currently retired or about to retire, often start thinking about how they can own a piece of Puerto Vallarta and spend at least a part of their retirement in Paradise.

Many visitors interested in pursuing the idea of retiring in Puerto Vallarta will rent a condominium during their first extended stay, and while doing so, will experience all the benefits Puerto Vallarta has to offer, and will explore the market for condos and/or villas. Once they have determined that Puerto Vallarta will be their full time or part time retirement destination, they are ready to start considering which is most appropriate for them, a condo or villa.

There are certain aspects of condo and villa ownership that are constant; for seven months from November through May, the climate will be ideal, there will be numerous activities to enjoy and an abundance of friends to enjoy them with, and every condo or villa will have a panoramic, breathtaking view of the Banderas Bay and the Sierra Madre mountains.

The following discussion is to address the differences between condo and villa ownership.

The first variable that most consider is the percentage of time expected to be spent in Puerto Vallarta each year. For those planning full retirement in Paradise, a villa with staff might be the best choice; association fees are minimal, there are no neighbors or renters upstairs, value appreciation is most favorable, furniture and personal items can be shipped into Mexico making living conditions more similar to back home, and most importantly, the old house in the US or Canada can be liquidated, thus freeing up the capital for retirement and travel.

Those planning part time residency in PV might favor condo ownership; they will be close to many of the restaurants, shopping areas, and activities, they will be able to turn the key and forget about it at the end of the “high season”, they will have an opportunity to generate rental income while away, their maintenance expenses will be minimal, and they will retain their permanent family residence back home.

The second variable to consider would be the number of friends & family that might be expected to visit each year. When you live in Paradise, you’ll be amazed at how many “dear friends” you had back home! Of course, the smaller the condo, the fewer “dear friends” you’ll have. Whereas, if you own a grand villa, you’ll have more “dear friends” than you ever knew you had.

The third variable has to do with the age and health of the retiree. A younger retiree might favor a villa where he can call it home, living there as he would in any permanent residence, without having that temporary or transient feeling. Also, since most of the villas are located on the mountainside, they are usually multi-story and involve stairs, thus presenting obstacles for those less fit. Maintenance of a villa requires much more time, effort, and money and therefore, to many of the older or less healthy retirees, it alone might rule out villa ownership. Typically, the older retirees find the advantages of condo life outnumber those of villa ownership, whereas the younger retirees with many healthy years ahead of them, prefer villa ownership.

Due to the ever increasing cost of land, as a “rule of thumb”, you can use an average cost per square foot for a villa of $250, whereas the average cost for a condo would be a little less, at $200 per square foot. Of course, there are many properties in Vallarta that sell for substantially less, however, we’re only considering those with magnificent views and all of the modern amenities. On the surface, these prices may seem high, however, similar properties with comparable views would be two to three times as much in the States. Furthermore, association fees are much less and property taxes are negligible in Mexico.

An additional consideration that every retiree must have relates to real estate future values. In Mexico in general, and in Puerto Vallarta specifically, there is no housing slump or fear of recession, as prices continue to escalate at a rate of 10% or more per year.

All properties, whether condos or villas, are purchased through 50 year trusts, held by a designated bank. These trusts give the holder exclusive right to property usage for 50 years and can be renewed after 50 years, can be given to a designated beneficiary upon death and then renewed for another 50 years, or can be sold, allowing the buyer to renew the trust for new 50 year term. These bank trusts are as safe as the title and deed used in the States or Canada; plus, since they are Mexican bank trusts, they are virtually untouchable by any outside entity.

Since all real estate legal transactions in Mexico are done in Spanish, it is imperative that the buyer is represented by a qualified attorney. Also, much of the Mexican coastal land is classified as ejido land, and as such, was designated by the Mexican government many years ago to be used by the natives as farm land. North Americans are unable to purchase some of this beautiful coastal land and therefore, any North American retiree considering real estate ownership in the Puerto Vallarta area, must have competent representation to assure them that the land is appropriate for foreign ownership.

Due to the differences in laws and language, an exclusive buyer’s agent is a prerequisite in order to avoid the potential pitfalls associated with real estate purchases in Mexico. Having a truly professional agent with 100% buyer dedication and loyalty will assure you a safe and pleasant real estate purchase, regardless of whether you’re buying a condo or villa in Paradise.
Here is a great condo in Puerto Vallarta that is for sale with owner financing: Puerto Vallarta condo for sale

Uninsured, under-insured and not sure Obamacare is going to ramp up in case you suddenly need a triple heart bypass? Consider a vacation to Mexico’s chaotic yet caring capital.

Desperate to win back the tourists it lost amid last spring’s swine flu crisis, Mexico City’s government and participating hotels are offering full health insurance to Mexican and foreign tourists staying here through the end of the year.

The insurance will cover treatment — including hospitalization and medicines — for those falling sick with the flu or other illnesses as well as those involved in an accident. Transportation of patients needing to be sent back to their cities or countries of origin will be paid by the insurance as well.

“There is no limit per insured person,” Alejandro Rojas, Mexico City’s tourism director, said after announcing the program. “If the person requires a heart surgery because of a medical emergency, the insurance pays it and the city pays the deductible.”

Mexico’s crucial tourism industry, which ranks third as the country’s source of foreign income, was clobbered by the swine flu outbreak that began here in the final days of April. Hotel occupancy in Mexico City, which was the flu’s epicenter, plunged into the single digits. Cancun, Puerto Vallarta and other beach destinations not dramatically hit by the flu were clobbered as well.

Tourism in the capital and nationwide has rebounded considerably this summer but still lags behind last year’s figures. More than 13 million tourists visited Mexico City last year, according to city figures, about a quarter of them from the United States.

“This really hit us hard. Occupancy hit the floor and still hasn’t come back fully,” said Patricia Hernandez, public relations manager for the Royal Hotel in Mexico City’s Zona Rosa, or “pink zone.” “We haven’t been able to clean up our image.”

That image has been suffering for years, since the crime wave that seized the city during the financial crisis of the mid-1990s, when tourists and residents alike were assaulted and robbed on the streets and in the city’s ubiquitous roving taxis.
Some hotels opt out

Mexico City’s violent crime has dropped dramatically since then, even as it has exploded in provincial areas shaken by gangland violence. But many people still shudder at the mention of the capital.

“They want to blame this all on the flu, but it started long before that,” said Ricardo Garcia, who works at an antiques market near the U.S. Embassy once popular with American tourists. “The government has failed to take care of the problem.”

The premiums on the tourist insurance are being paid by individual hotels, though many of the city’s higher cost properties and chains aren’t taking part.

Many worry about tourists trying to scam the program with unwarranted claims or pre-existing conditions, Hernandez said.

“Some people are always looking to take advantage,” she said. “We have to be very careful.”

The insurance program comes as Mexico City prepares for the next year’s celebrations marking the 200th anniversary of Mexico’s independence from Spain. Streets and boulevards have been resurfaced across the capital, buildings refurbished, museums overhauled.

Mexico City, Cancun and other beach destinations are enjoying a brisk summer season as Mexican tourists flock to them during the shortened school vacation season, which ends later this month.

Real estate opportunities in Mexico! How to prosper & avoid the coming storm
and prolonged economic stagnation in the USA.

First: A reality check on Mexico
.
Mexico is in a unique position to reap many of the benefits of the decline of
the US economy. In order to not violate NAFTA and other agreements the U.S.A.
cannot use direct protectionism, so it is content to allow the media to play
this protectionist role. The U.S. media – over the last year – has portrayed
Mexico as being on the brink of economic collapse and civil war. The Mexican
people are either beheaded, kidnapped, poor, corrupt, or narco-traffickers. The
American news media was particularly aggressive in the weeks leading up to
spring break. The main reason for this is money. During that two-week period,
over 120,000 young American citizens poured into Mexico and left behind hundreds
of millions of dollars.
Let’s look at the reality of the massive drug and corruption problem,
kidnappings, murders and money. The U.S. Secretary of State Clinton was clear
in her honest assessment of the problem. “Our insatiable demand for illegal
drugs fuels the drug trade. Our inability to prevent the weapons from being
illegally smuggled across the border to arm these criminals causes the deaths of
police officers, soldiers and civilians,” Clinton said. The other large illegal
business that is smuggled into the U.S.A. that no one likes to talk about is
Human Traffic for prostitution. This “business” is globally now competing with
drugs in terms of profits.
It is critical to understand, however that the horrific violence in Mexico is
over 95% confined to the three transshipping cities for these two businesses,
Tijuana, Nogales, and Juarez. The Mexican government is so serious about
fighting this, that they have committed over 30,000 soldiers to these borders
towns. There was a thoughtful article written by a professor at the University
of Juarez. He was reminded of the Prohibition years in the U.S.A. and compared
Juarez to Chicago when Al Capone was conducting his reign of terror capped off
with The Saint Valentine’s Day Massacre. During these years, just like Juarez
today, 99% of the citizens went about their daily lives and attended classes,
went to the movies, restaurants, and parks.
Is there corruption in Mexico? YES !!! Is there an equal amount of corruption
related to this business in the U.S.A.? YES !!!. When you have a pair of illegal
businesses that generate over $300,000,000,000 in sales you will find massive
corruption. Make no mistake about the Mexican Drug Cartel; these “businessmen”
are 100 times more sophisticated than the bumbling bootleggers during
Prohibition. They form profitable alliances all over the U.S.A. They do cost
benefit analysis of their business much better than the US automobile industry.
They have found over the years that the cost of bribing U.S. and Mexican Border
Guards and the transportation costs of moving marijuana from Sinaloa to
California have cut significantly into profits. That is why over the past 5-7
years they have been growing marijuana in State and Federal Parks and BLM land
all across America. From a business standpoint, this is a tremendous cost
savings on several levels. Let’s look at California as an example as one of the
largest consumers. When you have $14.2 billion of Marijuana grown and consumed
in one state, there is savings on transportation, less loss of product due to
confiscation and an overall reduction cost of bribery with law enforcement and
parks service people. Another great savings is the benefit to their employees.
The penalties in Mexico for growing range from 5-15 years. The penalties in
California, on average are 18 months, and out in 8 months. The same economic
principles are now being applied to the methamphetamine factories.
FOX News continues to scare people with its focus on kidnapping. There are
kidnappings in Mexico. The concentration of kidnappings has been in Mexico
City, among the very rich and the three aforementioned border Cities. With the
exception of Mexico City, the number one city for kidnappings among NAFTA
countries is Phoenix, Arizona with over 359 in 2008. The Phoenix Police estimate
that twice that number of kidnappings goes unreported, because like Mexico 99%
of these crimes were directly related to drug and human traffic. Phoenix,
unfortunately, is geographically profitable transshipping location. Mexicans,
just like 99% of U.S. Citizens during prohibition, go about their daily lives
all over the country. They get up, go to school or work and live their lives
untouched by the border town violence.
These same protectionist news sources have misled the public as to the real
danger from the swine flu in Mexico and temporary devastated the tourism
business. As of May 27 2009 there have been 87 deaths in Mexico from the swine
flu. During those same five months there have been 36 murdered school children
in Chicago. The “news sources” in the USA have a lack of integrity. By their
logic, if 27 deaths from the swine flu in Mexico warrants canceling flights and
cruise ships to Mexico, then close all roads and highways in the USA because of
record 43,359 automobile related deaths in the USA in 2008.
What is just getting underway is what many are calling the “Largest southern
migration to Mexico of people and real estate assets since the Civil War” A
significant percentage of the Baby Boomers have been doing the research and are
making the life changing decision to move out of the U.S.A. The number one
retirement destination in the world is Mexico. There are already over 2,000,000
US and Canadian property owners in Mexico. The most conservative number of
American and Canadian Baby Boomers who are on their way to owning property in
Mexico for full or part time living in the next 15 years is over 6,000,000. Do
the math on 6,000,000 people buying a $300,000 house or condo and you will
understand why the U.S. Government is trying to tax this massive shift of money
to Mexico through H.R. 3056. The U.S. government calls this “The Tax Collection
Responsibility Act of 2007″. Those who will have to pay it are calling this the
EXIT TAX.

Mexico: A better economic choice than China
Another large exodus from the U.S.A is high paying skilled jobs. The job shift
in automobile sector, both car and parts manufacturing, is already known by most
investors. In the last few months as John Deere and Caterpillar have been laying
off thousands of workers in the U.S.A., and hiring equal numbers in Mexico. The
most recent industry that is making the shift is the aerospace manufacturers. In
the city of Zacatecas there is currently a $210 million aerospace facility being
built. With the 11 U.S. companies moving there, it is estimated to provide over
200,000 new high paying jobs in the coming years. One of the main factors for
the shift in job south to Mexico instead of China is realistic analysis of total
production, labor and delivery costs. While the labor costs in China are 40%
less on average, the overall transportation costs and inherent risks of a long
distance supply chain, and quality control issues, gives Mexico a distinct
financial advantage.
Mexico’s real economic future
Mexico has avoided completely the subprime problem that has devastated the U.S.
banking industry. The Mexican banks are healthy and profitable. Mexico has a
growing and very healthy middle and upper middle class. The very recent
introduction of residential financing has Mexico in a unique position of having
over 90% of current homeowners owning their house outright. U.S. banks are
competing for the Mexican, Canadian and American cross border loan business. It
is and will continue to be a very safe and very profitable business. These same
banks that were loaning in a reckless manner have learned their lesson and are
loaning here the old fashioned way. They require a minimum of a 680 credit
score, 30% down payment, and verifiable income that can support the loan. In
most areas of Mexico where Baby Boomers are moving to, with the exception of
Puerto Penasco (which did not have a national and international base of buyers),
there is no real estate bubble. The higher end markets ($2-20 million) in many
of these destinations are going through a modest correction. The Baby Boomers
market here is between $200,000 and $600,000. With the continuing demand inside
the Bay of Banderas, that price point, in the coming years, will disappear. This
is the reason the Mexican government is spending billions of dollars on more
infrastructure north along the coast all the way up to Mazatlan.
The other major area where America has become overpriced is in the field of
health care. This massive shift of revenues is estimated to add 5-7% to
Mexico’s GDP. The name for this “business” is Medical Tourism. The two biggest
competitors for Mexico were Thailand and India. Thailand and India’s biggest
drawback is geography. Also recent events, Thailand’s inability to keep a
government in place and the recent terrorist attack in Mumbai, have helped
Mexico capture close to half of this growth industry. In Mexico today there are
over 56 world class hospitals being built to keep up with this business.
Mexico is currently sitting on a cash surplus and an almost balanced budget.
Most Americans have never heard of Carlos Slim until he loaned the New York
Times $250 million. After that it became clear to many investors around the
world what Mexicans already knew: that Mexico had been able to avoid the worst
of the U.S. economic devastation. Mexico’s resilience is to be admired. When the
U.S. Federal Reserve granted a $30 billion loan to each of the following
countries Mexico, Singapore, South Korea, and Brazil, Mexico reinvested the
money in Treasury bonds in an account in New York City.
According to oil traders, Mexico’s Pemex wisely as the price of oil shot to $147
a barrel put in place an investment strategy that hinged on oil trading in the
range of $38-$60 a barrel. Since the beginning of 2009 Mexico has been
collecting revenues on hedged positions that give them $90-$110 per barrel
today. Mexico’s recent and under reported oil discovery in the Palaeo Channels
of Chicontepec has placed it third in the world for oil reserves, right behind
Canada and Saudi Arabia.
The following is a quote from Rosalind Wilson, President of the Canadian Chamber
of Commerce on March 19, 2009. “The strength of the Mexican economic system
makes the country a favorite destination for Canadian investment”.

OPPORTUNITIES: WHY PUERTO VALLARTA & THE RIVIERA NAYARIT?
The answer is simple and old fashioned: SUPPLY AND DEMAND.
The area of Puerto Vallarta/Riviera Nayarit inside the Bay of Banderas is an
investor’s dream. This area has the comprehensive infrastructure in place, world
class hospitals and dental care, natural investment protection from the Sierra
Madre Mountains, endless future water supply, low to nonexistent crime,
international airport, and limited supply inside the Bay, first class private
bilingual schools and higher than average appreciation potential. Like many
areas in Mexico there is large demand for full and part time retirement living
and a lot of construction underway to meet this demand. Pre construction of
course is where the best bargains are available.
I would offer a word of caution for investors in Mexico. Do not be seduced by
the endless natural beauty that is everywhere, both inland in colonial towns and
along thousands of miles of beach. Apply conservative medium and long term
investment strategies without emotion. The demand for full and part time living
by American and Canadian Baby Boomers is evident throughout the country. The top
two choice locations are ocean front, and ocean view. The third overall choice,
which is less expensive, is inland in one of the many beautiful colonial towns
or small cities.
Mexico, with the world’s 13th largest GDP, is no longer a “Third World
Country”, but rather a fast growing, economically secure state, as the most
recent five-year history of its financial markets when compared to the U.S.A.’s
financial markets suggests.
DOW JONES MAY 2004 10,200 MAY 2009 8,200 20% LOSS IN 5 YEARS
MEXICAN BOLSA MAY 2004 10,000 MAY 2009 23,000 130% GAIN IN 5 YEARS

“To celebrate growing older, I once wrote the 45 lessons life taught me.. It is the most-requested column I’ve ever written.

My odometer rolled over to 90 in August, so here is the column once more:

1. Life isn’t fair, but it’s still good.

2. When in doubt, just take the next small step.

3. Life is too short to waste time hating anyone..

4. Your job won’t take care of you when you are sick. Your friends and parents will. Stay in touch

5. Pay off your credit cards every month.

6. You don’t have to win every argument. Agree to disagree.

7. Cry with someone. It’s more healing than crying alone.

8. It’s OK to get angry with God. He can take it..

9. Save for retirement starting with your first paycheck.

10. When it comes to chocolate, resistance is futile.

11. Make peace with your past so it won’t screw up the present.

12. It’s OK to let your children see you cry.

13. Don’t compare your life to others. You have no idea what their journey is all about.

14. If a relationship has to be a secret, you shouldn’t be in it.

15. Everything can change in the blink of an eye. But don’t worry; God never blinks.

16. Take a deep breath. It calms the mind.

18. Whatever doesn’t kill you really does make you stronger.

19.. It’s never too late to have a happy childhood. But the second one is up to you and no one else.

26. Frame every so-called disaster with these words’ In five years, will this matter?’

27. Always choose life.

28. Forgive everyone everything.

29. What other people think of you is none of your business.

30. Time heals almost everything. Give time.

44. Yield.

45. Life isn’t tied with a bow, but it’s still a gift.”

A holy man was having a conversation with God one day and said,
‘ God , I would like to know what Heaven and Hell are like.’

God led the holy man to two doors..

He opened one of the doors and the holy man looked in.

In the middle of the room was a large round table. In the middle of the table was a large pot of stew, which smelled delicious and made the holy man’s mouth water.

The people sitting around the table were thin and sickly. They appeared to be famished.

They were holding spoons with very long handles, that were strapped to their arms and each found it possible to reach into the pot of stew and take a spoonful.

But because the handle was longer than their arms, they could not get the spoons back into their mouths.

The holy man shuddered at the sight of their misery and suffering.

God said, ‘You have seen Hell.’

They went to the next room and opened the door. It was exactly the same as the first one.

There was the large round table with the large pot of stew which made the holy man’s mouth water.

The people were equipped with the same long-handled spoons, but here the people were well nourished and plump, laughing and talking. The holy man said, ‘I don’t understand..’

It is simple,’ said God . ‘It requires but one skill.

You see they have learned to feed each other, while the greedy think only of themselves.’

Obama funds $20M tax payer dollars to immigrate Hamas Refugees to the USA
This is the news that didn’t make the headlines…
By executive order, President Barack Obama has ordered the expenditure of $20.3 million in migration assistance to the Palestinian refugees and conflict victims in Gaza . The “presidential determination” which allows hundreds of thousands of Palestinians with ties to Hamas to resettle in the United States was signed on January 27 and appeared in the Federal Register on February 4.

Few on Capitol Hill took note that the order provides a free ticket replete with housing and food allowances to individuals who have displayed their overwhelming support of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) in the parliamentary election of January 2006.

A review of Barack Obama’s most recent actions since he was inaugurated a little more than two weeks ago:

His first call to any head of state as president was to Mahmoud Abbas, leader of Fatah party in the Palestinian territory.

His first one-on-one interview with any news organization was with Al Arabia television.

He ordered Guantanamo Bay closed and all military trials of detainees halted..

He ordered all overseas CIA interrogation centers closed.

He withdrew all charges against the masterminds behind the USS Cole and 9/11..

Now we learn that he is allowing hundreds of thousands of Palestinian refuges to move to and live in the US at American taxpayer expense.

To verify for yourself: www.thefederalregister.com/d.p/2009-02-04-E9-2488

PLEASE PASS THIS ON… AMERICA NEEDS TO KNOW

I love my country, but now fear my government

I don’t think being a minority makes you a victim of anything except numbers.. The only things I can think of that are truly discriminatory are things like the United Negro College Fund, Jet Magazine, Black Entertainment Television, and Miss Black America. Try to have things like the United Caucasian College Fund, Cloud Magazine, White Entertainment Television, or Miss White America; and see what happens…Jesse Jackson will be knocking down your door.

Guns do not make you a killer. I think killing makes you a killer. You can kill someone with a baseball bat or a car, but no one is trying to ban you from driving to the ball game.

I believe they are called the Boy Scouts for a reason, which is why there are no girls allowed. Girls belong in the Girl Scouts! ARE YOU LISTENING MARTHA BURKE ?

I think that if you feel homosexuality is wrong, it is not a phobia, it is an opinion.

I have the right ‘NOT’ to be tolerant of others because they are different, weird, or tick me off.

When 70% of the people who get arrested are black, in cities where 70% of the population is black, that is not racial profiling; it is the Law of Probability.

I believe that if you are selling me a milkshake, a pack of cigarettes, a newspaper or a hotel room, you must do it in English! As a matter of fact, if you want to be an American citizen, you should have to speak English!

My father and grandfather didn’t die in vain so you can leave the countries you were born in to come over and disrespect ours.

I think the police should have every right to shoot you if you threaten them after they tell you to stop. If you can’t understand the word ‘freeze’ or ‘stop’ in English, see the above lines.

I don’t think just because you were not born in this country, you are qualified for any special loan programs, government sponsored bank loans or tax breaks, etc., so you can open a hotel, coffee shop, trinket store, or any other business.

We did not go to the aid of certain foreign countries and risk our lives in wars to defend their freedoms, so that decades later they could come over here and tell us our constitution is a living document; and open to their interpretations.

I don’t hate the rich; I don’t pity the poor

I know pro wrestling is fake, but so are movies and television That doesn’t stop you from watching them.

I think Bill Gates has every right to keep every penny he made and continue to make more. If it ticks you off, go and invent the next operating system that’s better, and put your name on the building.

It doesn’t take a whole village to raise a child right, but it does take a parent to stand up to the kid; and smack their little behinds when necessary, and say ‘NO!’

I think tattoos and piercing are fine if you want them, but please don’t pretend they are a political statement. And, please, stay home until that new lip ring heals. I don’t want to look at your ugly infected mouth as you serve me French fries!

I am sick of ‘Political Correctness.’ I know a lot of black people, and not a single one of them was born in Africa ; so how can they be ‘African-Americans’? Besides, Africa is a continent. I don’t go around saying I am a European-American because my great, great, great, great, great, great grandfather was from Europe. I am proud to be from America and nowhere else

And if you don’t like my point of view, tough….
